 ld and strengthen community across campus while also celebrating our impac
 t through research\, innovation\, and engagement. All faculty and staff ar
 e welcome to join for part or all of the session\, as able. \n\nOur featur
 ed speaker for September 22nd is Dr. Dini Adyasari\, Assistant Professor i
 n Marine & Coastal Environmental Science\, whose research spans groundwate
 r quality\, subsurface contaminant transport\, and the public health risks
  associated with contaminated well water. She investigates coastal aquifer
  dynamics\, including water storage\, recharge\, discharge\, and the impac
 ts of land subsidence\, seawater intrusion\, and salinization. Her work al
 so explores the effects of extreme events—such as hurricanes\, storm sur
 ges\, and flooding—on coastal groundwater systems\, and she is actively 
 developing nature-based solutions to mitigate groundwater contamination. O
 ne current project involves sampling private owner wells in Galveston Coun
 ty to better understand the local groundwater quality and its potential im
 pact on Galveston Bay.
